Let’s talk about something important...
I used to cling tightly to this belief that:
→ Nothing of value comes without being earned through a lot of hard work.
Which is not a bad belief to have.
In fact, I’m sure there’s a lot of people that could greatly benefit from it.
But here’s where it got interesting for me…
At one point in my online basketball training business we were making a lot of money, rather easily.
Which was great.
Except, it didn’t fit into my belief.
Which meant I either had to:
1.) Not value the success we were having (because it was coming ‘too easy’)
Or…
2.) Work harder to justify the success we were having.
Which one do you think I chose?
Both.
Ha.
I didn’t value our success at the time AND I started to make things way more complicated than they needed to be.
We started doing random hard work just to make ourselves feel better about the money we were making.
It sounds insane. And it kind of is.
But it just shows how much weight your beliefs have in creating your reality.
I love to work hard. But not for the sake of proving my worthiness to myself.
I’m over that.
And I invite you to be too.
(Hint: it doesn’t work; a large bank account doesn’t solve low self worth, it usually just makes it worse…)
What beliefs do you hold that are no longer serving you?
Maybe something like:
→ Success is hard to attain and always just out of reach.
Hmm... Maybe.
But what if it wasn’t?
What if success was as easy for you as breathing fresh air?
…?
How would that change your confidence? And decision making?
All of the most successful entrepreneurs that I meet have this weird megalomaniac thing going on.
(Which is not fun to be around, and I’m not inviting you to take that on…)
But it is interesting to observe how that’s shaped their beliefs and worldview.
They believe that success is inevitable for them.
And guess what? It kind of ends up being that way.
So let me ask you again…
What beliefs do you hold that are no longer serving you?
Something to think about today.
If any come to mind, hit reply and let me know. I’d love to hear.
Have a great day.
